Ingredients

  • 1 lb 450g ground chicken
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes chopped
  • 1 cup fresh spinach chopped
  • ¼ cup red onion finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for cooking
  • Optional: ¼ cup crumbled feta cheese

Method

  1. Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, red onion, garlic, dill, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add feta cheese (if using) and mix gently until well combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.
  2. Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty. Ensure the patties are evenly sized for consistent cooking.
  3. Cook the Patties: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C). Alternatively, grill the patties for a smoky flavor.
  4. Serve: Serve your burgers in a traditional bun, a gluten-free lettuce wrap, or on a protein bowl with fresh veggies and tzatziki sauce.

Notes

  • Storage: Store cooked patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze the patties for up to 3 months. Make sure to separate them with parchment paper when freezing.
  • Grilling Tip: If grilling, cook on medium heat for the same 5 minutes per side. Preheat the grill to ensure the burgers cook evenly.
  • Customizing Flavor: Feel free to adjust the amount of herbs and spices to suit your taste preferences. Add extra feta cheese for a creamier, tangy flavor.
  • Serving Ideas: For a complete meal, pair these burgers with roasted vegetables, a Greek salad, or roasted Greek fries.
